Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a speech at the main plenary session of the Innoprom 2026 international industrial exhibition in Yekaterinburg, Russia. He stated that the main guideline for technological development should continue to be people, while modern technology and artificial intelligence should free people from everyday monotonous work, and not push them out.
In his opening remarks, the Armenian premier thanked Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin for the invitation to participate in the exhibition and noted the high level of organizing of this event.
The Armenian prime minister stated that Innoprom has traditionally been one of the largest international platforms for demonstrating leading industrial solutions, exchanging experience, and developing business ties.
According to Pashinyan, today the global industry is going through a phase of profound transformation, where scientific developments, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and data analysis technologies play an increasingly important role.
Speaking about the respective situation in Armenia, the premier noted the stable positive dynamics of industrial development.
“In 2025, the growth in industrial output compared to 2024 amounted to 4.7 percent, and in the first four months of the current year, it was already 13 percent compared to the same period last year,” he said.
The Prime Minister of Armenia paid special attention to the development of the processing industry.
According to him, over the past nine years, production in this sector has increased twice. In parallel, microelectronics, biopharmaceuticals and robotics are actively developing, which contributes to the growth of demand for fundamental scientific research, the modernization of professional education, and the formation of a new labor market.
Pashinyan said that one of the priorities of Armenia’s industrial policy is the creation of science-intensive industries.
“The formation of high-tech industries should ensure technological development through the introduction of digitalization, artificial intelligence technologies, and data analytics,” the Prime Minister of Armenia stated.
According to him, such an approach will increase the investment appeal of this sector, accelerate the transfer of modern technology, and create conditions for the production of products with high added value.
The prime minister announced that Armenia’s innovative development strategy is aimed at ensuring sustainable economic growth and the country’s integration into global technological processes.
“Our goal is to take a worthy place on the map of global information technologies and high-tech industries,” Pashinyan said.
Also, he noted that the large investments of recent years testify to the growing confidence of international partners in Armenia as a state with a long-term strategic vision in high tech.
The premier of Armenia devoted a separate part of his speech to Eurasian integration. According to him, industry continues to be one of the key driving forces in the development of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Pashinyan noted the importance of the mechanism for financial support for cooperation projects, which, in his opinion, contributes to increasing the competitiveness of the industry of the EAEU member states and creates favorable conditions for mutually beneficial cooperation.
He said that Armenia’s enterprises are already participating in a number of joint industrial projects with partners of the EAEU.
In closing, the premier of Armenia touched upon the rapid development of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the need to maintain a human-centered approach when introducing new technologies.
“In the era of the rapid development of high technologies and artificial intelligence, the main guideline for us should remain the humanitarian aspect. Technologies are not designed to replace a person, but to free him from everyday monotonous work, thus opening up new horizons for intellectual and creative activity,” Nikol Pashinyan stated.
