On July 1, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko urged not to dramatize the situation in the Russian fuel market, noting that the government was taking measures to stabilize it.
Commenting on the allegations of a shortage of fuel for farmers, the head of the Federation Council stressed that Russia is artificially creating such a situation, but the country will be able to get out of it.
"We will get out of this difficult situation that is being created for us, it is clear who is creating it on purpose. It is necessary not to dramatize, not to groan, but to look for a solution together," Matvienko said.
She recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with members of the government on the fuel situation, and a working group led by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak is looking for solutions to stabilize the market on a daily basis.
At the same time, she called the situation difficult and called for diesel fuel to be provided primarily to the agro-industrial complex.
"The harvest is underway and we have no right to allow serious disruptions. Moreover, the staff, agricultural workers, they are doing their best to preserve crops and increase agricultural production in these difficult conditions. There should be a firm shoulder of the state here. Therefore, measures are being taken," Matvienko said.
