Maritime intelligence firm TankerTrackers said early on Wednesday that at least two supertankers operated by the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) have broken through a U.S. naval blockade, carrying a combined 3.8 million barrels of Iranian crude, Reuters reports.
Satellite images verified on Monday confirmed the shipments, marking Iran's first crude oil exports in nearly two months, the firm said in a social media post.
The firm also noted that the NITC-owned tanker STREAM is now departing Pakistan's exclusive economic zone, where it had been held up for seven weeks while awaiting to return to Iran.
