On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Permanent Representative of Armenia to the United Nations, H.E. Mr. Paruyr Hovhannisyan, participated in the high-level event “Powering Gender-responsive Synergies across the Rio Conventions in the Belém Gender Action Plan Era,” organized by UN Women and partner governments.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hovhannisyan highlighted the importance of advancing gender-responsive environmental action and strengthening synergies across the Rio Conventions. As the incoming Presidency of CBD COP17, Armenia reaffirmed its commitment to promoting women’s leadership and participation in biodiversity governance, supporting gender-responsive policies, and fostering greater coherence across biodiversity, climate and land agendas to deliver more effective, inclusive and sustainable environmental outcomes.
