German Chancellor Friedrich Merz congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the victory won by the Civil Contract party in the 2026 parliamentary elections. The congratulatory message states:
“Congratulations to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Armenian people. Despite enormous pressure, the people of Armenia clearly chose democracy and peace.
I look forward to further deepening our bilateral and European cooperation with Armenia.”
