Kuwait's Foreign Ministry has handed a formal protest note to the Iranian embassy, condemning "continued Iranian attacks".
According to Kuwait's statement, delivered by Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Hamad Al Meshan, the decision also announced measures to reduce the size of Iran's diplomatic mission, including declaring two diplomats persona non grata.
The update follows missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran that targeted civilian facilities and critical infrastructure, including Kuwait International Airport, resulting in casualties and material damage.
Kuwait strongly condemned the incidents as a violation of its sovereignty and international law, rejecting Iranian claims that its territory had been used for hostile activity.
It affirmed its right to take all necessary measures to protect its security and territorial integrity.
