The U.S. president called on Tehran via social media to “move quickly” and accept the concessions demanded by the Americans, threatening devastating strikes if it fails to do so.
In an interview with Axios, Donald Trump clearly stated that he expects Iran to present an updated proposal for a peace deal acceptable to the United States.
Earlier, Iran’s state-run Fars news agency published a list of five demands that Washington had presented to Tehran for the second round of peace negotiations. It was reported that Washington refuses to compensate Tehran for damages caused during the war, plans to remove 400 kilograms of enriched uranium from Iran, and seeks to dismantle the country’s nuclear infrastructure while preserving only one facility.
According to the agency, Washington also refuses to unfreeze “even 25% of Iran’s frozen assets,” linking the end of the war to progress in the negotiations. Tehran believes that by imposing such conditions, the United States is attempting to achieve goals it failed to accomplish during the military operations.
