Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks in the Kremlin with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who arrived in Moscow on a working visit.
The current state and prospects of the Russian-Armenian strategic partnership and alliance, integration cooperation in the Eurasian region, as well as topical regional issues were discussed, in particular, the development of economic, transport and logistical ties in the South Caucasus.
Putin noted that Russia and Armenia have special relations that have been built not over decades, but over centuries. "We are united by a common history and the joint efforts to solve common problems in the past. We are also united by civilizational commonality, which is extremely important. I have told you once personally and I can say it publicly: we always accept what benefits the Armenian people, and you can always take this into account," the Russian President noted.
Putin also touched upon Armenian-Russian economic relations. "As for the economy, it is developing at a good pace. The year before last, the turnover amounted to $11 billion, and last year, in 2025, it amounted to $6.4 billion. I would like to note that, for example, with neighboring Azerbaijan, it is less than five times - $4.9 billion. Of this $6.5 billion, $1.2 billion is agricultural products: vegetables, fruits, wine - everything that Armenia exports," the Russian leader said.
Other areas of bilateral relations were also touched upon during the meeting.
