Reuters. A plume of smoke covered Tehran sky on Thursday (March 5) as Israeli military said it began a new "widespread wave of attacks" in Iran.
Explosions were heard in Tehran and Karaj, according to Iran state media.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards also said on Thursday that they have hit a U.S. tanker in the northern part of the Gulf and the vessel is on fire.

Iran said on Wednesday that 1,045 people have been killed in the country since Saturday as a result of U.S.-Israeli strikes.
The toll follows joint U.S.-Israeli attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities starting Saturday morning, which resulted in the deaths of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, his family members, top military commanders, and many civilians.
Iran has since responded with multiple waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and U.S. assets across the region.
In the early hours of Wednesday, the U.S. and Israeli forces struck a girls' school in Urmia, in Iran's West Azerbaijan province, according to reports.
The attack came just one day after the funeral of 165 schoolgirls and staff killed on Saturday in U.S.-Israeli attacks on an elementary school in Minab in southern Iran's Hormozgan province.
