Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Robert Abisoghomonyan, met in Geneva with Megi Fino, Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania.
The meeting took place within the framework of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council.
During the meeting, the deputy foreign ministers discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Armenia and Albania within international organizations, the foreign ministry said in a readout.
The officials exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including opportunities for joint initiatives under the Human Rights Council. Deputy Foreign Minister Abisoghomonyan also briefed his counterpart on preparations for the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be held in Yerevan this year. The meeting also addressed steps aimed at advancing the bilateral agenda between the two countries, including promoting political dialogue and activating consultations.
