Reuters. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Tuesday (December 2) that he is "waiting for the results" of a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin on a possible way to end the war in Ukraine.
Speaking in Dublin at a press conference alongside Irish Taoiseach (prime minister) Micheal Martin, Zelenskiy said that Witkoff was welcome in Ukraine if there was "real, specific dialogue, not just words," following the talks in Moscow.
On Zelenskiy's first official visit to Ireland, Martin pledged further support to Ukraine, including an additional 100 million euros in funding for non-lethal military assistance and 25 million euros to aid Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
The president's visit comes at a critical time for the Ukrainian peace plan after a leaked set of 28 U.S. draft peace proposals emerged last week, worrying Ukrainian and European officials who said it bowed to Moscow's main demands on NATO, Moscow's control of a fifth of Ukraine and restrictions on Ukraine's army.
