The Speaker of the National Assembly commented on relations with the CSTO during a briefing with journalists.
“Does leaving the CSTO indicate anti-Russian sentiment? Let’s move away from the names for a moment: if you join an organization — for example, some union, say the Journalists’ Union or the Butchers’ Union — and that organization does not fulfill its obligations, and you want to leave it, does that make you anti-journalist? No,” he said.
Responding to the question of why Armenia does not formally leave the CSTO, he stated: “We are actually out. As for the rest, leave that to our political expediency.”
