U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he is satisfied with the progress of negotiations with both Moscow and Kyiv on establishing peace in Ukraine.
“Negotiations with Russia are going well. Everything is fine with Ukraine,” he told reporters.
Trump believes that the sides will come to the conclusion that the U.S. proposals for resolving the conflict are beneficial for them.
At the same time, he noted that some issues are complex and may require considerable time for negotiations. As an example, he cited the future borders between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump also stated that European countries should assume a significant part of Ukraine’s security guarantees after the end of the conflict there.
As for a meeting with the leaders of the conflicting sides, the U.S. President said he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky if the agreement on the Ukrainian settlement is in its final stage.
