Russian Ambassador to Baku Mikhail Yevdokimov was summoned to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, where he was handed a note of protest.
On November 14, Russia carried out massive strikes on Kyiv, as a result of which the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine and the adjacent territory of the diplomatic mission were also seriously damaged. There are no injured among the staff. The Azerbaijani side issued a statement noting that similar missile attacks, contradicting the norms and principles of international law, had occurred previously as well.
Following the incident, Russia’s TASS news agency, citing its military source, wrote that an examination of the footage showing the damage to Baku’s embassy in Kyiv indicates that a Ukrainian Patriot system’s anti-aircraft missile fell on the building. Moscow has not yet officially responded to the incident.
