A train loaded with Kazakh grain has arrived in Armenia, traveling through Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia by rail, the Government of Armenia reports.
The train delivered 1,000 tons of wheat to Armenia.
Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Davit Khudatyan and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan were present at the arrival of the train at the 'Ayrum' station in Tavush Province.
“This became possible in the context of the peace reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan, in line with the documents signed in Washington in August. A train carrying Russian wheat also arrived in Armenia the previous day.
This development has not only political but also significant economic importance, as it substantially reduces the time spent on transporting cargo to Armenia,” said Davit Khudatyan.
According to the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, this is a historic event.
“At present, relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan are showing dynamic growth in all directions. Today’s event is a vivid manifestation of that,” the Ambassador stated.
