“For the first time, we are discussing the state budget of the Republic of Armenia under the conditions of established peace with Azerbaijan. In essence, this is the first time we are discussing the budget under peaceful conditions. I would also like to take this opportunity to once again reaffirm that, according to the Washington Peace Declaration of August 8, 2025, peace has been established between the Republic of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and this peace already has specific parameters and concrete statistics,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during the joint session of the National Assembly’s standing committees while presenting the preliminary discussion of the 2026 state budget.
“I want to emphasize that for already 1 year and 8 months, not a single soldier has been killed as a result of border shootings between Armenia and Azerbaijan. I would like to stress again that in the entire history of our independence, we have never had such a period of 1 year and 8 months,” the Prime Minister said.
