Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has held a meeting with Masato Kanda, the President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
PM Pashinyan welcomed Mr. Kanda’s visit to Armenia and congratulated him on his appointment as President of the ADB, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a readout.
The PM emphasized the visit’s special significance given that it coincides with the 20th anniversary of the partnership between Armenia and the ADB.
Underscoring that cooperation between the Armenian government and the ADB has been continuously developing, the PM stated that the ADB has played an important role in supporting Armenia’s development goals – ranging from infrastructure modernization, public administration system reforms and promoting sustainable growth.
Mr. Kanda expressed gratitude for the warm reception and congratulations, noting that the ADB highly values the close partnership with the Armenian government and is ready to continue actively contributing to the effective implementation of various projects in the country.
PM Pashinyan and Mr. Kanda discussed the course of ongoing joint projects. They exchanged views around cooperation in housing, improvement of seismic safety, school-building, infrastructures and other areas.
