U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his desire to see a ceasefire established in Ukraine at the earliest possible time.
“I want to reach a ceasefire as soon as possible. I don’t know if it will happen today or not,” Trump said.
He added that Europe “has nothing to do with this” and “cannot dictate what I should say,” but stressed that European countries, as well as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, will be involved in the process.
Ahead of his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump noted that he hopes “everything will go very well,” but if not, he would “return home very quickly.”
Meanwhile, according to FlightRadar24 data, the Tu-214 aircraft carrying President Putin entered U.S. airspace, with more than 70,000 people tracking the flight online.
