On September 18, the Head of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction Arusyak Manavazyan and the Secretary of the Faction Volodya Hakobyan received the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden Eva Sundquist, of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Marieke Harriet Monroy-Winter, and of the Kingdom of Belgium Eric de Muynck, to the RA.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed expanding RA-EU relations, the visa liberalization process between the RA and the EU, and a range of issues regarding cooperation in the trade-economic, political, defense, and security sectors.
"For us, Sweden, Belgium, and the Netherlands are not merely European countries; they are shining examples of democracy, the rule of law, and institutional culture, and through our state-building programme, we aim to meet those same standards. Democratic reforms represent our political commitment and serve as fundamental guarantees for the security of our statehood. We highly value your support in this regard," Arusyak Manavazyan said in particular, addressing the Ambassadors.
The interlocutors emphasized the importance of deepening and intensifying inter-parliamentary ties. In this context, the role of parliamentary friendship groups was highlighted.
The Head of the Faction valued the EU monitoring mission's presence in Armenia and welcomed the European Union's decision to temporarily eliminate or reduce import tariffs on certain Armenian goods.
At the request of the guests, relations with parliamentary opposition forces and other issues were also addressed.
