This is a historic and unprecedented event. Several key developments took place at the White House with the participation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and U.S. President Donald Trump, Head of the Civil Contract faction Hayk Konjoryan told Lurer’s correspondent.
“First and foremost, a declaration was signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which also bears the signature of the U.S. President. This declaration contains crucial provisions — in particular, it addresses the unblocking of regional communications, where we essentially recorded in black and white the principles we have been discussing for the past five years: that regional communications must be opened on the basis of sovereignty, territorial integrity, jurisdiction, and reciprocity,” Konjoryan said.
According to Konjoryan, it was also recorded that Armenia and the United States will work together to define the framework of the Trump Route communication project.
“This is an extremely important project, which means that the United States is significantly increasing Armenia’s investment attractiveness and opening up prospects for economic development.
Konjoryan also addressed the bilateral memorandums signed with the U.S.
“At the White House, we signed three memorandums of intent. The first concerns U.S. support for the Crossroads of Peace and readiness to invest in it, because the Trump Route is, in essence, a key component of the Crossroads of Peace. This means that the Crossroads of Peace concept has become an internationally significant document, signed at the White House by the U.S. President and the Armenian Prime Minister.
We also signed documents on cooperation in the energy sector, as well as in the fields of artificial intelligence and new technologies. This, in essence, marked a new stage in the strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States. Naturally, we must now make this tangible, and in the near future there will be concrete meetings and visits to Armenia to implement these agreements between the governments of Armenia and the United States,” Konjoryan said.
