US President Donald Trump has again announced that he intends to impose sanctions against Russia if there is no progress in resolving the conflict in Ukraine within the deadlines he has set.
In an interview with NEWSMAX, the head of the White House said that in phone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin he insisted that the war must end.
"I thought we had agreed on this three times in a row, and maybe he wants to try to take it all on himself. I think it will be very difficult for him," Trump said.
He stated that if the conflict continues, the US will apply sanctions, and that he "understands sanctions well" and knows how to avoid them.
Earlier, the head of the White House had set August 8 as the deadline for concluding an agreement.
