Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday, June 19, that he is ready to meet with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy but only during a "final phase" of negotiations on ending the conflict, adding that a lot of work needs to be done prior to that.
"We don't care who negotiates, even if it is the current head of the regime. I'm even ready to meet with him. But only if this is going to be some kind of final stage, so as not to sit there and divide something endlessly, but to put an end to it", Putin stated on the sidelines of the SPIEF (Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum).
He added that both the Russian and the Ukrainian delegations have agreed to have another round of negotiations after June 22.
