On June 1, the first Tumo Center, Tumo Gunma officially opened in Asia, in the city of Takasaki, of Gunma Prefecture of Japan.
The Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan gave a welcoming speech during the solemn opening ceremony, underscoring the importance of the program in the framework of the Armenian-Japanese educational cooperation.

It is a great honor for me to stand before you today as we inaugurate the very first TUMO Center in Asia – here in the heart of Japan, in the city of Takasaki.
The opening of TUMO Gunma symbolizes more than a shared commitment to youth and innovation. It reflects the spirit of cultural and intellectual exchange that has defined Armenian-Japanese relations for decades. Our two nations, though geographically distant, are united by common values: democracy, resilience, and a deep appreciation for knowledge and heritage.
As TUMO Gunma soon welcomes 1,500 young minds from across the prefecture, it will foster long-lasting connections and inspire collaborative innovation between Armenia and Japan.
I hope TUMO Gunma is just the beginning. It is part of a broader vision to extend this educational initiative to other Japanese cities, ensuring even more young people benefit from this modern and dynamic learning approach.
