“Those who demand a ceasefire before peaceful negotiations simply do not know history. Military operations have always been accompanied by negotiations,” Medinsky said, commenting on Kyiv's proposal to establish a ceasefire.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Spokesman touched upon the Istanbul meeting. He reported that the Russian delegation made a number of demands that are unacceptable to Kyiv.
According to Georgy Tikhi, the Ukrainian delegation in Turkey did an excellent job. The department recalled that as a result of the negotiations, it was possible to agree on a large-scale exchange of prisoners in the format of 1,000 for 1,000.
