EU Ambassador presents positive developments in visa liberalization process to Armenia's President

President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan has met with Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, the Head of EU Delegation to Armenia.

The President said that the Armenia-EU relations have been dynamically developing and encompassing new formats and areas of cooperation in the recent years, his office said in a readout.

Ambassador Maragos reiterated commitment to continue making efforts for strengthening and enhancing the partnership between Armenia and the EU.

A number of ongoing EU-supported projects and initiatives in Armenia were discussed. 

The possibilities of utilizing the potential of cooperation in energy, education, economic development and other areas were discussed.

Ambassador Maragos presented the positive movements in the visa liberalization process and attached importance to consistent bilateral work in this direction.

The sides also exchanged views about the course of the Armenia-EU New Partnership Agenda.

The EU ambassador also presented the upcoming program dedicated to Europe Day, emphasizing its inclusiveness and importance aimed at raising awareness among the Armenian society and involvement in the EU-Armenia ties.

The sides also focused on the EU-supported reforms aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, as well as humanitarian and social support programs. 

The need for further developing cooperation and implementing new joint initiatives was underscored by both sides.
