Reuters. U.S. Vice President JD Vance and his family met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday (April 21).
In a video released by Modi's office, the Indian leader was seen welcoming the American vice president, his wife Usha Vance - who is the daughter of Indian immigrants - and the couple's three children. The video also shows Modi playing with the children, and offering them peacock feathers.
The U.S. is India's largest trading partner and their two-way bilateral trade reached $129 billion in 2024, with a $45.7 billion surplus in favour of India, U.S. government trade data show.
Vance's tour is seen as laying the ground for Trump's visit to the country later in the year for the summit between the Quad group, that includes India, Australia, Japan and the U.S.
