It has now been nearly three months without any response to our proposal, and Azerbaijan’s stance is deeply concerning. We are discussing this with all our international partners, and I believe it would be beneficial for Azerbaijan to continue its participation in the peace process.
President of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, made these remarks during a briefing with journalists.
"You all know that we have submitted a package of proposals, and we are waiting for a response, but as of today, we have not received one. Perhaps this is related to the escalating situation between Azerbaijan and Russia, I don’t know. But in any case, the Armenian side is awaiting a response", Simonyan said.
When asked by a journalist whether Baku is communicating with Moscow regarding the negotiated document, Simonyan responded:
"I cannot say for certain, nor can I rule anything out".
"I believe the Azerbaijan understands that Armenia's independence, sovereignty, and future, as well as Azerbaijan's sovereignty and future, are closely interconnected, and it is in our hands to shape them. Today, we have a historic opportunity to resolve this issue once and for all and ensure a future of peaceful coexistence for our descendants", Simonyan emphasized.
