On October 25, Armenia's Ambassador to USA Lilit Makunts had a meeting with US Senator Ed Markey (D-Massachusetts).
The Ambassador briefed the Senator on the security situation around the Republic of Armenia after 44-day war of 2020, consequences of ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians and the assistance programs developed by the Government of Armenia for those people.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the possibilities of achieving a lasting peace in the South Caucasus region.
