There is a large amount of medicine in the humanitarian cargo transported to Nagorno-Karabakh. According to Deputy Minister of Health Armen Nazaryan, it will support the current state of the Nagorno-Karabakh health system to a certain extent.
“It is in a catastrophic state, as the entry of medicines, bandages and other materials into NK is completely blocked. We have enough medicines, around 200 names, they are essential medicines for young children and adults, we have emergency medicine for pressure, cardiovascular system, antibiotics, anti-shock, psychotropic drugs, anesthetics, anti-tumor, there are many patients who need to receive medical care," he said in an interview with ‘Lurer.
According to Nazaryan, the volume of medicine is about 4 tons, there is also one ton of medicine donated by a private healthcare organization.
To the clarifying question, if this baggage does not arrive, how much will the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh become worse, the deputy minister answered.
“In the Nagorno-Karabakh health care system, we have a very overburdened, even catastrophic situation, planned operations are almost not carried out, hospitals are overloaded with chronic patients, serious patients who need to be transferred to narrower specialized clinics. Recently, the transfer of patients was also stopped, it happened in the last two days, but they were very late. If we do not use this small opportunity, I can say that the situation will be very difficult, even the ambulance system will have difficulty working due to the lack of transport."
