The delegation led by Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan paid a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands on May 10. The delegation also includes Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan, the Ministry reports.
Within the framework of the visit, on May 10, the members of Armenia’s Government were present at ‘Under the spell of Ararat - Treasures from Ancient Armenia’ exhibition at the Drents Museum in the city of Assen.
The opening of the event took place in Assen Joseph Church with the participation of the ‘Abovyan’ Cultural Association of the Netherlands.
The exhibition is held within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
“The exhibition once again demonstrates and reminds the warm and historically friendly relations that exist between the people of Armenia and the Netherlands. Committed to common values and national identities, our peoples have always been open and deeply interested in interpenetrating cultures," said Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The event was planned to be held 2 years ago, it was postponed twice due to the pandemic.
The exhibition presents 160 valuable exhibits from the History Museum of Armenia, the Treasury of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, including the unique relic of Noah's Ark.
During the ceremony organized in the Drents museum, at the suggestion of Armenia’s Prime Minister, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Armenia’s independence, 5 figures from different spheres of the Netherlands were awarded Armenian state awards for their significant contribution to the establishment, strengthening and development of friendly relations with the Republic of Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan handed the awards.
‘Under the spell of Ararat - Treasures from Ancient Armenia’ exhibition will be open at the Drents Museum in Assen until October 30.
