By order of the Iraqi Prime Minister, a commission has been set up to monitor the activities of armed groups threatening Iraqi Kurdistan. This was reported by EaDaily, citing the Kurdish Rudaw agency.
“Attacks on Kurdistan have recently increased from neighboring countries, and now using drones. The task of the commission will be to search for armed groups in the region that threaten Kurdistan. The commission will also work to establish a mechanism to prevent a recurrence of such incidents,” said Maj. Gen. Tahsin Al-Khafaji, spokesman for the Joint Operations Command in Iraq.
Earlier, the Kurdish Rudaw TV channel reported that the airport in the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Erbil, was attacked by drones, and several explosions were heard near the airport.
