Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan sent a letter of condolences to German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the occasion of the floods in Germany. The message, in particular, reads:
“Your Excellency, I am deeply saddened to learn of the dozens of dead and injured in the floods in the German northern Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate states.
On behalf of the Armenian people and personally me, I express my deep condolences to you, the friendly people of Germany. Sharing this grave grief, I wish the families and relatives of the victims endurance and courage, and the wounded a speedy recovery. I am confident that the German government will be able to overcome the consequences of this difficult challenge in a short period of time.”
