Ara Aivazian had a phone conversation with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State

On February 8, the RA Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian had a phone conversation with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker.

The interlocutors exchanged views on issues related to the bilateral agenda, emphasizing the role of the Armenia-US strategic dialogue in advancing and deepening the cooperation agenda. Ara Aivazian and Philip Reeker reaffirmed their mutual commitment to continue practical efforts to further strengthen Armenian-American relations.

The interlocutors touched upon regional security and stability issues in detail. In the context of the steps taken to address the consequences of the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh, the Minister Aivazian drew the interlocutor's attention to the inadmissibility of creating humanitarian problems, in particular, obstacles by Azerbaijan to return of Armenian prisoners of war and hostages.

Both sides stressed the need to address the key issues of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, which is clearly stated in the December 3 statement of the High Representatives of the Co-Chairs.
