Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan provided details after talks with the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan in Moscow, that lasted almost 11 hours. In an interview with "Lurer", he noted that the process was quite complicated.
"For us, of course, the priority was to reach a situation where we could put an end to this aggression. The aggression in this case was special because Azerbaijan's actions were accompanied by quite open and strong support from Turkey and the involvement of international terrorist groups", he said.
According to the Armenian Foreign Minister, the situation in the region remains fragile and a ceasefire is needed.
"First of all, this was a very serious challenge for Nagorno Karabakh, and of course, it would be impossible to talk about any progress without putting an end to this situation. What we have been able to record during the long negotiations is that we need to stop the fire, stop this atrocity, strengthen ceasefire and then talk about the peace process. We also reaffirmed that the Minsk Group co-chairing remains the only format that is an internationally recognized platform for negotiations", Mnataskanyan noted, adding: no other force, particularly Turkey, can play a role in this regard.
