Under the auspices of the RA President Armen Sarkissian, the Second Armenian Summit of Minds is being held today in Yerevan.
The online summit was attended by 500 representatives from different countries of the world: politicians and public figures, heads of international organizations, major global companies, prominent policy experts and analysts.
In his opening remarks, President Sarkissian welcomed all those who were to come up as speakers of the conference, those who just participated and those who followed the conference. "Despite the events in the world, as well as in the Caucasus, we decided to organize the conference," he said. “This will not be a traditional three-day event, during which it would have been possible to admire the beautiful sights of Dilijan and other venues of the Republic of Armenia. However, I hope we will meet again next year”.
He also referred to the ceasefire agreement between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Moscow yesterday, mediated by Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov. The President of Armenia thanked all the Co-chairs of the Minsk Group - the United States, France, Russia - for mediating the ceasefire, and expressed special gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation, Putin, and Foreign Minister Lavrov. "I hope the ceasefire will be the beginning of the return to the peace process", Sarkissian said.
