The draft declaration the three leaders should approve at Baku summit, reads, “The parties aim to take effective measures to improve existing opportunities for passenger and product transportation along with “North-South” international transportation corridor, aiming to develop transporting communication infrastructure”.
“North-South” corridor aims to link Northern Europe with South-Eastern Asia. During the project implementation Azerbaijani, Iranian and Russian railways are to be connected.
At the first stage of the project over 5 million tons of cargo transportation is planned to be carried out through the corridor, with the tendency to double the volumes.
