The broad public debate on the draft constitution is still ahead, till then specialists are debating. According to NA deputy Khosrov Harutyunyanthat is the reason for not sufficient amount of information about the proposed amendments.
According to the deputy, the proposed document is qualitatively different from the present-day Constitution and that was the reason for the high assessment of the project by the Venice Commission.
At the press-conference Khosrov Harutyunyan stated that if the draft constitution were put to a referendum having the present content, he would vote for it.
One of Khosrov Harutyunyan’s proposals refers to the responsibility of the public authority. According to him, the most important norm is dignity, which is the basis of human freedom. He also added that the constitution should also enshrine the freedom of choice of doing business.
