A meeting between the representatives of the Venice Commission working party and the Experts Committee of the Armenian Constitutional Reforms was held in the Council of Europe Paris Office. It is the third discussion with the experts of the Venice Commission. Gagik Harutyunyan, the Head of the Armenian committee, Chairman of the RA Constitutional Court noted that after affirming the approaches they would develop the final package of the reforms.
Advice by the Venice Commission is important not only for the concept, but also for further organizing work in terms how the issue to be solved on the constitutional level to ensure the system integrity.
The deputy head of the Commission says the constitutional changes are necessary and important in terms of strengthening democracy in Armenia.
The general rule is that after the winding-up discussion by the working party consisting of committee and commission members will present a report, which will be debated and adopted at a regular sitting. And that is expected on October 2.
