President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that in the coming days American representatives will visit Ukraine and Russia. According to him, these are Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
“We discussed today that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will visit Moscow and on Sunday will visit Kyiv,” said Zelenskyy.
The president noted that Ukraine is already preparing for this visit. According to him, a meeting took place involving a broad diplomatic team, including representatives working with the United States.
Volodymyr Zelensky reported that, as during previous diplomatic visits of the American side, Ukraine will ensure the normal functioning of Russian airspace so that negotiators can arrive safely.
“We care about them specifically, not about Russia,” the president emphasized.
According to him, there will be no airstrikes from the Ukrainian side during this period. At the same time, Russia, according to Zelensky, must reciprocally ensure silence without airstrikes for the time necessary to conduct negotiations and resolve logistical issues related to the visit of the American side.
The president stated that the Ukrainian side expects a maximally constructive and meaningful visit and negotiations with the American side.
“We need to look for real options on how to bring this war to an end,” said Zelenskyy.
He also noted that Ukraine expects to hear proposals from Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as Moscow’s position on them.
“We will see what proposals Steve and Jared have and what they will be told about them in Moscow,” added the president.
