"I don't know who will replace me, and I haven't thought about it. If the Government needs my advice, we'll discuss it. But that is a matter for the Government," newly elected Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan said during a parliamentary briefing when asked who would succeed him as Armenia's Special Representatives in Armenia-Turkey normalization process.
Addressing efforts to secure the return of prisoners and detainees, Rubinyan stated:
"As you know, the issue of prisoners and detainees is part of our daily work. It is thanks to this daily effort that more than 200 prisoners have returned home over the years. This work never stops. As you've noticed, there have been months with no visible progress, and during those periods there were still claims that the Government was doing nothing. Then, all of a sudden, more prisoners returned. We will do everything we can to ensure that this happens as quickly as possible.
Of course, at the parliamentary level, we will continue working in this direction just as we have done so far."
