Reuters. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Thursday (July 16) Ukraine and Russia had become "psychologically ready" for a ceasefire after all the means in the war had been used.
Speaking during a news conference in Kyiv alongside his Ukrainian counterpart, Fidan said that he hoped the current destructive moment in war is a sign of a coming ceasefire. "As they always say, the point closest to dawn is the moment when the night is darkest," he said.
Fidan also repeated that Turkey did not want the war to spread into the Black Sea and affect navigational safety there, calling on both sides to avoid attacks on vessels and ports.
