On June 17, at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, received Claudia Busch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Defense.
As part of the visit, Ambassador Claudia Busch, on behalf of the German Federal Government, handed over 16 snowmobiles to the Ministry of Defense with the aim of modernizing the technical equipment and enhancing the capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
The Ambassador noted that Armenia and Germany are linked by close relations. She particularly emphasized that since 2025, bilateral relations have been strengthened by a strategic partnership agenda signed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The snowmobiles will be used in high-mountain conditions for the transportation of personnel and small, lightweight cargo. With the support of experts who arrived from Germany, personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia are currently undergoing training in the operation of the snowmobiles.
