On June 12, at 3:13 p.m. local time (11:13 a.m. GMT), the seismological network of the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8. The epicenter was located 52 kilometers southeast of the city of Sheki, Azerbaijan, at geographic coordinates 41.03° north latitude and 47.75° east longitude, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers.
According to the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral zone reached 6–7 points.
The earthquake was felt in the city of Berd, as well as in the villages of Chinari and Aygedzor in Armenia’s Tavush Province, with an intensity of 2–3 points.
