The most significant, tangible and significant step of 2025 was the Washington conference on August 8, 2025, when a declaration was adopted by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the President of Azerbaijan, and it was signed as a witness by the US President. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan at the joint session of the Standing Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
According to Mirzoyan, within the framework of that same declaration, he himself initialed the peace agreement with his Azerbaijani counterpart, agreements were also reached on the unblocking of regional transport infrastructure.
“This has a very tangible impact on the lives of our citizens, on the one hand, and on the other hand, this large economic program has a very significant political significance. It is both a consequence of establishing peace and, at the same time, the number one guarantee of strengthening and maintaining peace,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs said.
