Ukraine says its long-range strikes continue to hit Russian military logistics and oil infrastructure across occupied territories, said Volodymyr Zelenskiy in his evening address. According to President, Ukrainian forces have already struck 15 Russian oil refineries since the beginning of the year, causing fuel shortages in Crimea and other occupied regions.
Kyiv also claims nearly 40% of Russia’s primary oil refining capacity is currently out of operation. Ukrainian intelligence reports that Moscow has already restricted exports of aviation fuel and gasoline and is now considering limiting diesel exports as pressure on the Russian economy grows.
At the same time, Zelenskiy added that Ukraine is urging partners to strengthen sanctions pressure on Moscow. Ukrainian President welcomed France’s detention of a Russian tanker and called on Europe to create legal mechanisms allowing Russian shadow fleet vessels to be stopped and confiscated. Ukrainian intelligence also says Russia is trying to bypass sanctions through companies in Europe, the United States and Asia.
