The delegation led by Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas, who arrived in Armenia to participate in the 8th Summit of the European Political Community, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial, accompanied by Greece’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, Christos Sofianopoulos.
The guests were welcomed and accompanied throughout the visit by Acting Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, Hrachya Tashchyan. He presented the history behind the creation of the memorial complex, its symbolism and significance, and also referred to the Memorial Wall, noting that it symbolizes the rebirth of the Armenian people.
President Tasoulas laid a wreath at the memorial commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Members of the delegation then placed flowers near the eternal flame and observed a minute of silence in memory of the genocide victims.
