The report on the progress and results of the implementation of the Action Plan of the Republic of Armenia (2021–2026) for the year 2025 is being discussed in Parliament.
At the beginning of his speech, the main rapporteur, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stated that today Armenia is a completely different state compared to what it was in 2018.
“Today we are more independent than ever, more sovereign than ever, more of a state than ever, more democratic than ever, more developed than ever, more peaceful than ever, more prosperous than ever, more secure than ever. Let me add one more thing—we are more long-lived than ever, because according to the results of 2024, the average life expectancy in the Republic of Armenia is 78.6, which is an absolute record throughout the entire existence of the Republic of Armenia, and, as I understand it, even compared to the Soviet period,” the Prime Minister said.
According to him, today the prospects of the state are more certain than ever, primarily due to the peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which was established on August 8, 2025, in Washington with the support of President Donald Trump.
According to the Prime Minister, major and historic events await in the near future—the implementation of the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” project, which will ultimately lift Armenia out of a nearly 34-year blockade, as well as the signing and ratification of the agreement on establishing peace and interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which will ensure the further elimination of hostility between the states and their peoples.
“Even today, peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and it should be noted that it already has a sufficiently strong legal basis,” the Prime Minister said, emphasizing that he considers this an important observation.
The Prime Minister stressed that the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan also has binding legal force.
