A Ukrainian delegation has traveled to Geneva to participate in talks to end the war involving representatives of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia. The meetings are scheduled for February 17-18.
This was announced by the head of the Presidential Office, Kirill Budanov.
The Ukrainian negotiating team left for Switzerland on the night of February 16, where the next stage of diplomatic negotiations to end the war is to take place.
Budanov published a photo from the capital’s train station together with First Deputy Serhiy Kyslytsia and Deputy Head of the State Traffic Safety Administration Vadym Skibitsky.
“On the way to Geneva. The next round of negotiations is ahead. Along the way, we will discuss the lessons of our history with our colleagues, we will seek the right conclusions. Ukraine’s interests must be protected,” Budanov said.
Recall that the next round of trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States and Russia will take place in Geneva on February 17-18. The Ukrainian delegation has already begun preparations for this meeting. It also became known that two diplomatic rounds of negotiations are to be held in Geneva at once – on Ukraine and Iran. The US delegation will include envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
As is known, in early February in Abu Dhabi, Ukraine, the United States and Russia held another round of talks on the settlement of the war. The parties have made some progress on procedural issues, but key differences remain . The most controversial issue in the negotiations remains control over the entire Donetsk region, on which the parties have not yet reached an agreed solution.
