Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan held a meeting with representatives of the U.S. company Shield AI, led by Director of International Business Development and Strategy Chris Brinkley. The February 10 meeting took place within the framework of U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Armenia.
Hayrapetyan’s First Deputy, Gevorg Mantashyan; Military Industry Committee Chairman Aram Jivanyan; and Shield AI Vice President for Government Relations Chip Burkhalter also participated in the meeting.
Minister Hayrapetyan highly appreciated the already established cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and Shield AI in the defense sector, emphasizing its significant potential for further development, the ministry said in a readout.
The Minister presented the Government’s initiatives aimed at advancing the sector, the ongoing legislative reforms, as well as Armenia’s highly qualified engineering potential and the broad areas of cooperation in defense technologies.
Chris Brinkley presented Shield AI’s activities and technological solutions, with particular emphasis on the company’s expertise in artificial intelligence and autonomous systems. He highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation with Armenia, noting the company’s readiness to engage in knowledge exchange, research and development, as well as the implementation of joint projects.
The discussion focused on prospects for cooperation in the defense industry, the application of autonomy software platforms, the exchange of expertise, and R&D programs.
