We are proud to announce that our countries have completed negotiations on an agreement between the governments of Armenia and the United States on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said today, February 9, during a statement in Yerevan with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“Once this is underway, it will pave the way for future projects for both American and Armenian companies. We are initially talking about approximately $5 billion in investments, with a second phase adding another $4 billion. This is a mutually beneficial situation for Armenia and for my country, supporting energy security, energy sustainability, and creating many jobs both in the U.S. and in Armenia.
This means small modular reactors—that is, American technologies will come to this country. Our country very rarely feels confident enough to export specific technologies to another nation, and this is also thanks to the Prime Minister’s leadership,” he added.
